Sapiens by Yuval Harari (Review)

The official name of this book in english may be “Sapiens A Brief History of Humankind”, but I’ll be using the official name in Spanish which would be translated as “Sapiens From animals to gods” since I met and read the tittle with that name, and it’s relevant for this review (which I originally wrote in Spanish).

Despite considering myself a writer, I must confess there are just a few books I have read in my life. Taking this into account, it may be too much for me to say that Sapiens has been the best I have ever read.

It was by pure chance I found this book, even though it is one of the most popular books, referenced by influential figures; a “programmed” coincidence, maybe. I wanted to write about that powerful thing humans have but not the rest of the animals, that thing we call “intelligence.” I thought the latin word “sapiens” was important to start with my story, and when I googled it, the entire page had been invaded with “Sapiens From animals to gods by Yuval Harari”.

And that’s how I discovered this book, which title absolutely caught my attention: “Sapiens From animals to gods”.

I thought it would be a book about that thing that makes us different from the rest of the species in the animal kingdom. I thought it would have information about our brain, about all those intelligence-related functions. I…
